Why did Aileen Wuornos become a serial killer?
Public Comments
- The Patriarchy drove her to it. The only real question is why more women don't run around killing men.
- She was a crazy vile human being!
- She was raped by a serial rapist and therefore thought that it was a good idea to kill preachers offering her help. Perhaps it would be of particular benefit to the earth and global warming if all women saw all men as serial rapists and all men saw all women as Aileen Wuornos. If we must be bears then let us be grizzlies.
- She was gay and loathed herself after raising money for her and her girlfriend by submitting to sex with truckers etc and the self loathing turned outward and after she killed the first *client* she became generally enraged and 'addicted' to killing and so it went on. As the above person said she was generally enraged and damaged by abusive treatment and it turned her into a killer. I do think it is odd that we explain away the *reasons* why a female became a serial murderer as if those circumstances mitigate the issue whereas when we talk about a male serial killer we just brand him as evil with no explanation at all - I don't - most of society does.
- I just know this: Women are never violent unless there's a darned good reason. Evil men must have done something to her to make her "act out" in this way. She deserved counseling and support, not punishment.
- She had a very dark history. She started having sex with her brother at a very young age and became very promiscuous hence forth. She was said from her earliest years to have an explosive temper, volatile, enraged when something she didn't like happened. She was really just a loose cannon.
- mental illness of course!
- The same reason that most psychopaths become serial killers. They are psychopaths with no conscience.
- Why did anybody become a serial killer?
